How To Mix Nature's Greens If you're going to paint the landscape, it is hard to avoid Nature's green. This is definitely the problem color, yet so lovely to look at in nature. Why do artists always paint bowls of fruit? Because painting a still life is an excellent way to begin painting from real life. A still life allows you to control the composition-what is included and how it is arranged. You control the light source. You can take as much time as you need because a still life stays still!
