bring all Chinese/Sumi painting materials you have

you need a plastic table cover

A starter kit is available at SAS for $35 includes paints, paper, 3 brushes and ink
included in kit ............

Shuan Paper (rice paper):

One Sized Shuen paper is smooth, long fibered rice paper, sized with multiple coats of alum solution.
One Raw Double Shuen is the most sensitive of the rice papers, cheerfully displaying dynamic strokes and complex shade variations with translucent fluidity and original spontaneity also used as mounting paper

Ink: One bottle black Chinese/Sumi ink

Colors: Marie's Watercolor Set Chinese painting colors (12 tubes in one set)

Brushes: Chinese brushes from extra small to large.

Other stuff -
Palette with a fairly large mixing area - butcher tray or large white plate
Water container - Should be able to hold at least a pint of water
Paper towels - Viva
Masking tape
Spray bottle - I prefer the Holbein Watercolor Spray Bottle 2oz
Pencil and eraser (kneaded eraser)
Tracing paper - I prefer the roll
Large Bath Towel to prop up board
White Board to tape your paper to no bigger then 24" x 32" (available on day of class)
Extra brushes you might want - Red Bean Brush - Best Detail Brush - Rat tail - Mountain Horse - White Cloud - flat Large Brush
