An encouraging painting style - Wet on Wet - with easy-to-follow demos to help
painters at all levels achieve impressive results with watercolors. ………. “You can do it!" ……….
Class will be part demo and
lots of hands on painting - We will work from a Terry Madden Workbook photo - and
complete one half size painting and one full size. Water techniques will be explained,
as well as use of color.
SUPPLIES FOR CLASS Bring
what you have - all Terry Madden supplies, including his new brush line are
available at Spokane Art Supply with a student discount on class day
Watercolor
Paper - Arches 300-lb. cold press. 2 sheet
minimum (you can use 140lb if want)
Brushes - synthetic
or sable watercolor - 1” flat - 2” or
3” flat - #8 or 10 round - small round #5-7
Watercolor Palette with a fairly large mixing area - I use the Aqua Pro
Paints - already have colors, you
need not purchase new ones. It is best to have Artist Quality tube paint not
Student Grade bring what you have - tubes and all (Terry recommends paints in
these colors - Raw Sienna - Indian Yellow - Alizarin Crimson - Prussian Blue -
Cerulean Blue - Warm Orange - Sap Green - Burnt Sienna - Naples Yellow - French
Ultramarine Blue - Permanent Mauve - Permanent Magenta - Permanent Rose -
Permanent Red - Lemon Yellow) but not necessary just similar colors
2 Water containers - Should be able to hold at least a pint of water - Paper towels = Viva - Masking tape - Spray bottle - Pencil and eraser (kneaded eraser) - Tracing
paper - Masking Fluid - Stylist or
old small brush to apply masking - Baby Shampoo - his Scraper - Old toothbrush
- Board to tape your paper to no bigger then 24” x 32” - Large Bath Towel to prop up board - Transfer
paper Mona Lisa brand is best
